The San Carlos Council is located at Villa Francisco on 2140 Cottage Street in Ft. Myers, Florida. Villa Francisco is an apartment complex directly across the street from St. Francis Xavier Church and adjacent to the St. Francis Xavier Rectory. The Grand Knight for 2011-2012 is Dale Thomas. The
Council and Ladies Auxiliary meet on the first
Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The Knights meet
in the Villa Francisco community room and the Ladies
meet in the Knights apartment no. 105.

month in the Villa Francisco community room at 7:00
p.m.
San
Carlos Council 2596 was founded on January 17,
1926. At that time the Council meetings
were held in a hut on what is now the St. Francis
Xavier School grounds, behind the old St. Francis
Xavier Church. The first building for the
Council had been used as a barracks in World War I
and was moved to Ft. Myers from Arcadia by the
Pavese brothers. About 1956, the Council
purchased a home on Grand Avenue which was used
until 1968, when a new, spacious Knights of Columbus
Hall was built on Park Meadows Drive, just south of
the city. In 2004, the Council moved to 4040
Princeton Street in Fort Myers, formerly the Club
Riveran property. In 2011 the San Carlos
Council moved to its current location at Villa
Francisco on Cottage Street in Fort Myers.
Council 2596 works closely with St. Francis Xavier
Parish and most members of San Carlos Council are
members and active participants in St. Francis
Xavier, St. Cecilia, and Resurrection of Our Lord
Parishes.
